Women Who Lead with Purpose and Passion: Inspiring Stories for Busy Career-Driven Women

Hello and happy Women's History Month! As the founder of Radically Alive Coaching, I'm thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievements of women throughout history, especially those who have broken through barriers and shattered glass ceilings. As a coach, I work with busy career-driven women, who are seeking a solution to feeling self-doubt, overwhelm, and burnout, and who wish to increase their confidence and self-esteem, reduce overwhelm, and feel a sense of peace and spaciousness in their daily lives while still maximizing their work performance, building their empire and breaking glass ceilings without breaking their spirit or stretching themselves thin.

As someone who grew up in a highly unstable household and struggled with substance abuse and self-doubt, I know how it feels to be alone and empty, despite achieving success in my career and relationships. It wasn't until I prioritized my self-care and personal growth that I was able to transform my life and find deep and loving relationships, including with my partner.

Let's take a look at some remarkable women who have inspired me and who embody the same values I most resonate with and who have made significant contributions to their industries while still prioritizing their well-being.

Oprah Winfrey

A media mogul and philanthropist who embodies the values of authenticity, personal growth, and high-quality experiences. Despite facing significant adversity in her life, including poverty, abuse, and discrimination, Oprah remained focused on her dreams and goals. She went on to build a media empire that includes television, film, and publishing, and has inspired millions of people around the world with her words and deeds. Oprah is a shining example of the power of self-love and resilience, and her story inspires us to prioritize our well-being and find our own path to success.

Sara Blakely

The founder of Spanx embodies the values of adventure and passion. Her brand is all about empowering women to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. Sara's story is a reminder that we can achieve anything we set our minds to, even if it means taking a risk and pursuing our passions. After years of feeling self-conscious about her appearance, Sara decided to take matters into her own hands and create a product that would make women feel confident and empowered. Despite facing numerous rejections from investors and manufacturers, Sara persisted in pursuing her vision and eventually built a billion-dollar empire. Today, Spanx is sold in more than 50 countries and has become a household name.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg

The trailblazing Supreme Court Justice embodied the values of responsibility and mindfulness. Her brand was about justice and fairness for all, and her legacy continues to inspire us to take responsibility for creating a more equitable world. Ruth faced significant discrimination and bias throughout her career, but she never gave up on her mission to fight for gender equality and women's rights. She was a fierce advocate for justice and equality, and her legacy continues to inspire women around the world.

Mary Barra

The CEO of General Motors embodies the values of personal growth and maximizing work performance without sacrificing well-being. Mary started her career at General Motors as a co-op student and worked her way up through the ranks to become the first woman to lead a major global automaker. Mary faced significant challenges as a woman in a male-dominated industry, but she remained focused on her goals and continued to develop her skills and expertise. Today, Mary is committed to creating a more inclusive and diverse workplace at General Motors, and is a strong advocate for personal growth and professional development.

Sheryl Sandberg

The COO of Facebook embodies the values of self-care and positivity. Her brand is all about empowering women to reach their full potential in the workplace without sacrificing their well-being. Sheryl's story is one of resilience and determination, as she has faced significant personal tragedy and adversity in her life. Despite these challenges, Sheryl has remained committed to her mission of creating a more equitable and inclusive world. She is a vocal advocate for women's empowerment and has used her platform to raise awareness about the challenges that women face in the workplace.

These women and many others like them embody the values that most resonate with me and the work I do at Radically Alive Coaching. Their stories serve as a powerful reminder that we can achieve our dreams while still prioritizing our well-being and personal growth. As we celebrate Women's History Month, let's honour the incredible achievements of women throughout history, and commit ourselves to creating a more equitable and inclusive world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
